At the 2008 New Environmental Exhibition, Nippon Chiko exhibited Magical Green, a comprehensive system which uses recycled plastics to facilitate the planting of grass or potted plants on roofs and walls. It has a unique water retention and distribution system that absorbs and automatically supplies water to the plants so the plants can be grown year round. A special cultivation tray can also be placed under the plants, so that Magical Green does not erode or put stress on the building.
